In total, there are 420km of pistes to explore, and the good thing is that Les Arcs gets great sunshine, so you can really enjoy yourself while you’re on the slopes. That’s not to say it’s not cold though. It’s pretty busy throughout the ski season, but things tend to really hot up on weekends. Les Arcs is an all year round resort, so the many summer activities (hiking, climbing, horse-riding) are also popular.
A stone-built Alpine-style residence enjoying ski-to-door access, Radisson is situated in the centre of Les Arc 1950. Apartments are decorated in warm shades and open onto balconies, and guests can ease aching muscles in the pool, sauna, hot tub and steam room.
These seven residences all border the alpine forest, roughly 300m from the ski lifts and shopping. As well as skiing, the resort boasts facilities for snow-sliding sports with an excellent snow park and rock climbing in summer. All simply furnished, the apartments offer self-catering kitchen areas.
This family-friendly chalet-style hotel with Mont Blanc views is situated at the foot of the slopes in the centre of the Alpine ski resort of Les Arc 1800. The hotel offers a fitness centre with a sauna and spa tub, along with a piano bar with fireplace and live jazz for a relaxing après ski drink.
Located in one of the Alps largest skiing centres, the residence offers a lively base 50m from slopes. Apartments are furnished in pine, and are simply decorated. As well as ample skiing opportunities in the winter months, local summer recreations include golf, rock climbing and tennis.
With breathtaking views of Mont Blanc, Neiges is a set of rustic-style apartments in wood and stone, all with balconies, satellite TV, fireplaces and kitchens. After a day on the slopes, guests can relax in the sauna or swim a few lengths in the hotel’s heated swimming pool.
Bourg-Saint-Maurice’s Mineral Museum gives you an intriguing look at the areas ancestral activities of the crystal makers, kilns and the crystals themselves.
Above Arc 2000 is the site of a number of smashed world records. The speed-skating ring is still used today – though mostly by paying customers who get to take a slightly lower line than the professionals!
Les Arcs is a beautiful area for discovering. Some of the mountain hikes offered are great, especially when you get a chance to appreciate the views on a clear day.
The apple plays an important part in Les Arcs history. Grown from the Aime region to that of Bourg-Saint-Maurice, apples were of great importance to the farming economy in previous generations. This lovingly put-together museum is dedicated to the fruit!
The gondola and cable cars operate all year round, traveling to the highest ski point in Les Arcs. Whether you’re into skiing/hiking or not, the spectacular views from the top are incredible.
